I absolutely love the definition to those wrinkles, the hairs on the forehead and that gorgeous nose, mouth and tusks! In combination with those little touches of highlights glimmering on the background water, it's a delight to behold, Peter.
Catching up here after a couple weeks away in Alaska. Thank you Alex, that's very kind of you.

SNOW!!!!!! i miss snow and cold!
Me too!

Just listening to Red Velvet - Summer Magic CD with my iPod Touch and earphones on a dimly lit bedroom.

Nicely done. Could be from a magazine shoot.

Antique chairs in the morning sun. Interior shot of an old homestead located in Heritage Village. There wasn't much light other than what came through the window.

Beautiful. Of course this is what the height of summer looks like in Scotland!

A close up of a fountain, or an extreme close up of a tap?

Thanks!. I've been doing laundry at home this week and just pretty much jamming with my CD collection while doing laundry. Just took a picture of what I'm doing that day. Never thought that it would've been from a magazine shoot though hehe.

Back from a camping trip along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Lots of shots to sort through but the ones that caught my eye and attention on PP was my first attempt at Milky Way Photography.

happy for a first attempt.

The Milky Way and it's core visible from the Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park. Mars makes an appearance in the lower left hand corner too. Saturn is casting a small reflection at the bottom tip of the core near the horizon - and somewhere in between Mars and Saturn, Pluto is around - although it would require a telescope to see properly.

This is a shot I made very quickly, as I wanted to get home to my bed! I was busy yapping to another photographer and whilst that was pretty cool and quite nice at 1.30am, it did distract me a lot and I didn't put as much thought into what I was doing. I'd rather have taken at least 16 frames of this scene for NR in post, maybe even 24. I just didn't think and opted for a stitched panoramic (as that's what the other photographer and I were discussing). Anyway, still happy with it.

Fuji X-T2 with Samyang 12mm f2 NCS lens. 20s / f2 / ISO 1600 for 4 stitched landscape orientated frames.

Today I went back to the same spot from yesterday. Took a 24mm lens rather than the 19mm TS lens I used yesterday. Wanted to make the industrial buildings more prominent in the composition. Was still cloudy today. Didn't take any ND filters with me today, though may go back on another day for a long exposure to blur the clouds and water into something surreal--though have to be careful to make it a long enough exposure so the props of the wind turbines create a circle rather than vanish.

And that you are happy with it I the most important thing here!

I still can't get my head around how 20 second frames can come out without showing any movement? Are you using a tracking system of some sort that moves the camera through that exposure, Mark?

That and the lack of a suitable lens for astrophotography are the only things holding me back from trying it out.

I read about a 500/xxmm lens equals the max long exposure time you can shoot before seeing movement. if you are using a crop sensor, you have to divide by that number after the first quotient. And there is also a 400/xxmm lens to really ensure you don't get any movement.

Also, I rented my lens for shooting the milky way shot i posted yesterday.
