what part of the world, setting did you take this photo?Adult female Kestrel. Surprising how small these raptors are. She wasn't much larger than the hand of the person holding her.

thanks, my sister (expo phillis) moved to naples last year and is in wonderment over the nature there.West central Florida. It was in the shade around midday.
Lovely.270 seconds of my life, enjoying some amazing salt spray along the further peninsula, where it actually made a jetty and a whole heap of beachfront real-estate disappear from sight!
Very dramatic.View attachment 774951
Just a usual day near river ...But this looked like some kind of a huge ‘collector thing’ reflecting rays on the other side.
Nice.

It's been very warm and dry for a while now. We had a very light shower yesterday, but nowhere near enough. Did you notice how everything looked so much more yellow than last time?My wife and I travel to England most years, sometimes twice, for our vacation. We love it. Gardens, wildlife, the LIGHT. Not having kids is a plus here as we put our money into retirement and travel. Oh and the occasional bit of photographic equipment. Here and there. But we've never traveled there (over 20 years) when it hasn't rained once. Except for this past trip. Hot. Sunny. All day, every day for two weeks. Amazing. Whitstable in this image.

Yes, much more yellow! It was very apparent as we were flying in/out. But even driving around the southeast coast it was yellowing up everywhere. It was actually more green in-and-around Denver, Colorado here in the states where we live, and this is high plains, desert shadow. It's been very warm and dry for a while now. A long story of being let down by house sellers, but anyway it is a lovely old fashioned seaside town and I hope you had an enjoyable stay
