Not wanting to scare anyone, just playing with Rembrandt Lighting for a current self portrait on an ID card. This was the very first test shot, checking the lighting angles and intensity, it did get softer. I thought I'd have some fun with a Joel Grimes inspired edit of this one and this is the result. The image used for the ID card is my new avatar.

If that’s for your ID card I can’t see you getting in anywhere! Mine is my avatar so I get in everywhere!
Nice editing.

I don’t have any photos yet but my daughter and I collected 11 monarch caterpillars the other day. We bought a second milkweed plant and got a net box to keep them safe. Hopefully we will have butterflies in a couple of weeks. We are out of town for a few days to see my parents and brought it all with us!! We left the dog in town with the dog lady and brought our caterpillars 🐛 instead!! And I have at least three more eggs at home. Hopefully they will survive till the end of the week and then we will relocate them to the netted plant as well.

What a cool idea, Molly! Hey, why not shoot a few images of the caterpillars while waiting for them to make the big changeover? Looking forward to seeing the Monarchs when they've emerged from caterpillars to full-fledged butterflies!
Yes I probably will but was short on time with collecting the caterpillars and packing. 🙂 but I brought my macro lens.

A couple years ago we bought a kit for raising swallowtails. They ship you an expandable net basket, and a smaller container with a food source and several live caterpillars. Just follow the steps and watch them go through their stages, then release them into the wild. A great project for the kids (and adults), and we (they) still reuse the net basket now for catch and release.

Okay, so who is old enough here to remember getting their milk with a thick layer of almost solid cream on the top inside this, with a foil strip sealing it? I am!

Exif is attached to the image, if you are curious, click through.
We can actually buy it that way from a local dairy farm. Well, the milk isn't like that, but their heavy cream is. You have to poke it with a knife to even get the cream to come out. Expensive for milk, but really tasty.

That would have to make the best custards! 😋
