My high school on our 40th reunion, located on the campus of Montclair State University in NJ. Grades 7-12 at the time. It was demonstration high school for student teachers at Montclair State. No longer a high school, bldg is used by the University. We had the same schedule as the college students, 10 minutes in between classes, no study halls. Free to roam and socialize in all 6 years. No problems, prepared us well for college when we got there.

Due to a flurry of great macros recently, I bought myself a 'new' lens; I couldn't afford the Nikon 105mm so I got the much older 60mm.

This is the rose Tequila Sunrise in the front garden...

Nikon D7200, AF Micro-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8, 1/500 @ f/3.2, ISO 100

Cheers :)

Hugh

Back in my Nikon days my 60mm macro was one of my favorite lenses and I used it far more often than the larger, bulkier 105mm macro. Enjoy your "new" lens, Hugh!

I had a dedicated macro lens at one time, but didn’t use it much and sold it off. I took a chance on a macro adapter that threads onto the front of my 45mm 1.8, and it does a much better job that I thought it would. At $60 new, it was also a very cheap way to scratch the macro itch!
Was that the Olly 60mm?
I had that when I was M43 and it was wonderful :)

Cheers :)

Well, since I'm on APS-C it comes out as 90mm in full frame terms, which I believe is your favourite macro on your Sony cameras ;)

Cheers :)

Your colours are certainly coming out nice nowadays.

Cheers :)

yes, I'm getting much better with scanning, although I discovered after I edited these that my camera wasn't quite square so a lot of them are not as in focus as they should be (as in the negatives are sharp, but my scans aren't). Will have to rescan them. I've adjusted my tripod setup and gotten some levels for the next go round. 🙂 But much happier with the colors I'm getting, so small steps.

but thank you. ❤️

I have seen some people on YouTube use a bubble level app on their phone, placing the phone on the back of the scan camera.

Yep, my 90mm macro is my favorite Sony lens, and although I bought the 50mm macro as well, thinking I'd be using it a lot the way I had my 60mm Nikon, that hasn't turned out to be the case. What I really loved was the Nikon 70-180mm zoom macro, which was a terrific lens, and I also loved the 200mm macro as well -- the longer lengths can really make a difference! That zoom, though -- it was the cat's pajamas. If you ever spot one for sale, grab it!

Maybe one day Sony will surprise us with a longer macro, too, but I'm not counting on that..... I do have the Voigtlander 110mm f/2.5 APO-Lanthar macro, which is a real gem, and I appreciate its somewhat longer length.
