But yes that would be my preference.

Who's up for dark and moody?! This one is definitely best viewed on black, but I guess that's not really an option on this site. The story is on my website, as usual. Not so much a story this time as a rationale for why I've spent five years of my life devoted to exploring the Dolomites. I've shared a 1280 pixel version here, which is much larger than the size you'll find on my website.
Monopod then.... or the string trick... the one where you get a piece of string, a D clip for your camera base plate, then make a triangle of string by standing on it and holding it taught as you have the camera at your eye.... pull tight when shooting and it will give you less shake.... try it... it works great for me in galleries...No room for tripods mate, the place was heaving with punters.
As for Lola, I don't see her that often (it's hit and miss which friends we see when walking our hound), and never in those lighting conditions.
Cheers
Hugh

Hey that's a great idea, but I refute your camera shake theory as I was shooting at 1/500.
I will put some string in my camera bag and try it sometime

Hey look, I'm one of those douches who takes photos of their lunch and posts it online....
Don't think I've posted this one - apologies if I have. Comments always appreciated.

Did it work?

Nicely done...I indulged in some therapeutic photography of my other passion this evening to sweeten my mood.
