To be honest, I chose the Sigma Contemporary based almost entirely on price. At my current stage of life (and house/physical location) I don't often have the ability to shoot a lot of wildlife; I live 17 miles outside of Washington, DC, so very suburban in all directions. I also started off with a Tamron 24-70 with my very first camera and wasn't crazy about the quality, although in hindsight I suspect it was more a body issue than a lens issue. For me, the Sigma is a good balance of quality, weight, and price, and I did a trade in when I got it that nearly covered the entire cost of the lens. ? So it was basically "free" to me.Just to complete the picture: Tamron has also a 150-600/5-6.3 zoom.
The squirrel posted today was taken on D500 (which I mostly use for animal and action pictures) with such a Tamron 150-600 at 550mm f6.3 handheld.
i actually refuse to drive there and make my husband!! ? i’ll drive in manhattan before dc. (and i know that isn’t what you meant. ?)Go into DC then you would have wildlife - in their natural habitat.
Your photo is perfect it's just one more squirrel ?
