Kirby & Kusatanken racing in the pasture on Saturday morning.
Question for the group on this one. This is the sort of photo (which, btw, is amazing) that I would kind of reflexively de-haze. Do you think that would improve or worsen this shot? I mean, nothing we do digitally needs to eliminate the original or anything, but just as an exercise.
Leave it as it is. Dehazing will undo the other worldly quality of the image in my eyes.Question for the group on this one. I wouldn't dream of it, actually. I was really in a moment of self-critique of my creative instincts, and how they could be improved.Oh, good point. It's not edited in any way. Just developed auto on everything in Photoshop as far as I recall.
Feel free and try and edit as you wish, perhaps in another thread?
Don't remember what lens this was, either the 600mm f/4 or 85mm f/1.2
Go, Broncos!!
That lovely picture reminds me of my own pictures of my kids in the swing. These are 20 years old. They were taken with a cheap disposable camera. Still, the moment has a special place in my heart. My children are now in their 20's, well on their way in obtaining university degrees. ❤️
The exif for the photo in question is 600mm at f/4. The bokeh/blur is appropriate for the length and aperture. Dockland suggested it might have been done at 85mm at f/1.2.I wouldn't dream of it, actually. I was really in a moment of self-critique of my creative instincts, and how they could be improved.
Thank you mollyc, I just recalled the exif is available here as well. The exif for the photo in question is 600mm at f/4. The bokeh/blur is appropriate for the length and aperture. Dockland suggested it might have been done at 85mm at f/1.2.
For both of those setups, the out of focus areas are desirable, and those are both very high end/expensive lenses....you don't buy that kind of glass then try to dehaze the blur away. 🙂
If you are worried about your own editing, we do have a thread where you can post your own photo for critique, rather than using someone else's image as a sounding board. ❤️
