I wouldn’t want a spruce for a Christmas tree anyway! Too sharp and it sheds worse than our cat in the spring.
I've been busy today, and only just now realized that I never got around to posting an image for today:
Baby Doll (on her back) has a new playmate, recent addition to the front porch who likes to play fight.
Bear, my original cat wants nothing to do with either one. Just growls and hisses at them.

I have never seen that species of grasshopper here in NC. My search says they are called the "Florida lubber grasshopper", native to the south eastern, and south central US. Great photo! Looks like an armored alien invasion.

This fellow was a resident at the Black Hills Parrot Welfare & Education Center in Belle Fourche, South Dakota.
That is correct. These are young ones, recent hatchlings.
More for Cardinal Week! I captured this in my mom’s backyard. She’s loved looking at my feeders on visits and loves cardinals!
