Wow those colors come popping off the screen- yet the swan commands my attention. Very nice, but for some reason I want to rotate it counter clockwise just a few degrees.

Thanks! Had the D300 on continuous focus as the big bird was coming towards me, it turned out ok.

Wherever I hang my hat...
Over the weekend I was walking with friends around boston. This man was playing all sorts of different wooden flutes right in front of Fanueil Hall and Houstons Restaurant. Pretty neat sounding stuff. Its too bad there was a white signpost behind him, but I think the picture came out well regardless.

Don't want to sound like a 'smart Alec'... but if you'd moved a few steps to left or right, the white signpost wouldn't have been behind the guy. :)

Wherever I hang my hat...

Nice, relaxed picture, with the restricted colour range helping the mood. But the unsupported greenery behind her head looks like a triffid ready to pounce. God, I'm getting picky...

If you could see some more of the plant - and where it's coming from - it might be better. I'm sure no-one else will see it this way, but, well...

Sometimes it's the details that complete a picture.

A bit washed out I know! Not sure when this was taken... maybe when I was much younger using my father's film camera? Maybe not though.

The word is Ass, Smart Ass, not Smart Alec! ;)

True, but in England we say "arse"... and you can't say the word without sounding vaguely ridiculous... ;)

Anyway, the light on the lake was very strange yesterday evening. The pic doesn't do it justice, but the weather's exactly the same today (very clear and far too hot for mid Feb in UK ), so I'll get up to one of my favourite viewpoints and see what happens. I'll pack a torch, 'cos the light was changing long after the sun had gone down...

Like it: the mood, the silhouette, the colour, the slight vignetting, the simplicity. But I'm in a picky mood today, and somehow I want to see the whole shape of that pod (ie uninterrupted by where it's overlapping with the branches), 'cos in silhouette you need to make things simpler still (ie a silhouetted face in profile 'makes sense', but if it's turned just five degrees away from profile, then it won't). Don't know if this makes sense... :)

DOYLEM: I really like the boat on the lake, gorgeous hue.

VALDORE: Amazing stuff, especially the staircase but the Kansas City Heli shots are cool too.
