It snowed today!

I didn't want the snow to be totally blown out...

The handprint is such a perfect addition, I love it! Does it now snow regularly where you live? You seem so excited that it did... whereas I just finished shoveling the driveway off snow and I hope I don't have to again today. :)

Wherever I hang my hat...
I just started out in photography about a week or two ago so im still learning.

I started out in photography about 25 years ago :)eek:)... and I'm still learning too. :)

something like this?...

I was thinking more about re-shooting the pic from scratch. Silhouettes, IMO, have to be very simple and uncluttered if they are to make 'visual sense'...

Your photo is showing up fine. When you posted the pic of the car, you didn't ask for feedback, but later when you did ask for comments or advice, there was no picture. Try asking for specific feedback when you originally post your pictures, and it won't be as confusing.

That Chevelle will hurt you. I can keep it in my garage until you're mature enough to use it properly. And, I'll make sure the tires don't flat spot while sitting.

The Tour of California will be rolling through town in 90 minutes or so, and I will be leaving to head over to the route in a bit. It's raining right now, so better safe than sorry...

Thank you! I live in a desert, so any sort of precipitation is nice. We get 2-3 snow storms a year. Just 45 minutes up the hill, on the other hand...
Mammoth ski resort.

More point 'n shoot...

Architectural details - Pueblo Bonito @ Emerald Bay, Mazatlan. This place was rather nicely done, both in style and landscaping... took a few shots with the little point 'n shoot (I've been having fun forcing myself to live with its limits...:)) mainly to document the place, but also to see how the little pocket digicam performs. Converted to b/w in Picasa.

From yesterday's Tour of California race. These guys were part of a 4 man group that had broken away from the peleton after the sprint through Livermore. It rained fairly heavily yesterday, though it had backed off a bit by the time the riders came past my vantage point. My 80-200 is with Nikon in El Segundo, so the only suitable lens I had was a 300.

I'm not sure what lens you're using, or if that distortion is done in post-processing, but it gives me a headache every time you post it for some reason. Maybe I just have bad eyes.

A 10.5mm Fisheye on a D300 - so his nose is about 6" from that billboard (okay, a little exaggeration, but not much :)) Fisheye are for distortion, it's purposeful. And we're not using to seeing it, especially when the fisheye is exaggerated that strongly.

Imagine being a fish and that's how you saw everything. :p
