One great thing about being a photographer is that even when I can't make it to the beach, I can still be there...:D

LittleCanonKid, wow love that flower shot, love the blurred flower, still visible as in you can see the shape and the right infront of you is perfectly focused. Did you spray the water on top of the flowers??

Anyway here is mine for today, comments and criticism appreciated.

I got a few others taken from the same place, do check it out if you all dont mind and do comment on it, good or bad. Its clickable

I like this one cause it seems like a view from an animal/insect eye

Thanks! I saw the lineup of flowers and knew I had to shoot them. It took a couple of tries though, because I was so close that any movement would make the focus slightly off.

No water spraying, either. We just had some rain, and when it cleared up I went out to shoot. :) I also like your shot. It's not quite daytime, but it's not pitch-black either... the subdued lighting is something I like a lot.

Thanks, and yea, the subdued lighting..haha :)

I'm assuming you're talking about the effects of the HDR process. You can get some pretty cool stuff from it, although I haven't tried it myself. I should probably get around to trying it. :) For good examples, valdore and nuwomb both have great HDRs they post.

Actually I am not a big fan of HDR. Actually it would be more accurate to say I am not a big fan of how most people are using the technique. There are a couple of photographers out there whose HDR work I enjoy but those photographers use it very subtly and they use it in situations where the technique enhances the subject matter. The vast majority of HDR work I have seen does the exact opposite. Its used very boldly and the picture ends up becoming more about the process than about the subject matter itself. It actually distracts you from the subject matter. A lot of the work I have seen is also missing the really deep blacks and the rich darker tones so it gives the print the appearance of being flat.
