Wide shots like this look good as panoramas and I like it. It's a good start for your first outing with a tripod at night.

Just wondering if anyone can give me tips on how to get a sharper picture of a moon? because when i look through the view finder i see an awesome picture, i snap it and it came out as a white circle?
If you are on Manual then pick a faster shutter speed. If it is too long there will be too much light and your moon will be washed out and you will lose your definition.
Here is two pictures i snapped.

Wow... really nice feel to this image. I love the arc of washed out snow that runs under the tree line. Great balance established with the sun set up diagonally from the large tree on the right. I get a real "ahhhh" feeling when I look at this image. Thanks for sharing.
Adjust your exposure, as acearchie has pointed out. You can also do some pp when the image isn't completely lost. You have some detail in the features of the moon that can be brought out with an exposure compensation and definition enhancement. Working from your original will likely have better gains than the small sample below.
Whoa! ima try that now, maybe post the finished product after, also is it best to use a tripod with shots like that?

Three "Hail Marys"... and we'll say no more about it...
If you crop the top of your pic, and then the bottom, then you've got a long, skinny photo... and that's that...
Some people like these panoramic cityscapes, but I'm not so keen... merely because, IMO, they can end up looking much the same. I'd home in on a smaller area, for more conventionally-shaped compositions... but that's just me...
In capturing nights shots with a tripod, my only advice would be to shoot a bit earlier. There's a wonderful period - after sunset, but before the sky goes black - that's particularly photogenic.
You'll have a lot of fun, shooting with a tripod at twilight and beyond. It's a whole new world of possibilities...
I know I'm breaking the 2 in one day rule, but I haven't been posting regularly to this thread (work, work, work).
Here is another, more representative pic of my new cat Zoe. Still some distracting elements in the background. It's hard to get kittens to pose in an ideal spot.
