Wow. When I first saw this, I thought it was some weird reflection on a tuba.
Great shot
Cheers - I see what you mean, particularly with the sort of brassy tone to it. The shape under the Bean is pretty much like the tuba horn.

Re titles, what about 'The Road Less Taken' (as a sort of homage to Mr Frost)? Anyway, lovely picture, the sort of picture that has one thinking indeed about roads less and not taken……and where they might lead you….
Brilliant pictures, both of you. Really excellent, and wonderfully respectful of the birds, too. Great stuff. An absolute pleasure to view, and would not be out of place in a proper, professional nature (or ornithological) work.
Gorgeous shot !
Many thanks, Kenoh, Anotherscotsman, and Scepticalscribe for the kind comments. A slightly different look from the same fellow as yesterday for today...

Well done and congratulations Florian! I tried to make it to Haleakala for sunrise but overslept. It's not an easy thing to do. Still an awesome sight at mid-day though.

kenoh and Scepticalscribe...thank you both for your gracious comments about my recent Snowy Owl shot.

MCH-1138...I'm loving your recent hummer series. All so very well done. I have yet to get a shot of one myself. Something for me to work towards.

I've shown your photo to about 4 photographers I work with today, and everyone of them said it was good.

Snowy for today:
Awww. Just wonderful. Really, very, very good.
These are a veritable feast for the eyes, fantastic subject matter, superbly shot, with respect, curiosity and mastery of material. Superb.
WOW, Ray. I never get tired you Aurora photos
Thanks, AFB -- glad to hear your colleagues liked it. Cheers!
Thanks, Oblomow!
Thanks, Cheese&Apple -- I may have to hang up my spurs if you start chasing hummingbirds! I am really enjoying your snowy owl series. The low-contrast shots from the past few days have a stark beauty to them, and I really like the fence posts and composition in today's.
Many thanks, Scepticalscribe -- I find the hummingbirds captivating to watch, even when I am not photographing them. One advantage to having these colorful birds frequenting my yard is that it is a somewhat controlled environment, so I can test different lighting setups, look for different backgrounds to shoot against, etc., and then try something entirely different the next day.
Very nice, AlaskaMoose. I'm with fcortese -- I don't think I'll ever get tired of these Aurora photos. I really like the clouds drifting overhead in this one. I hope to see the Northern Lights in person some day.

Similar setup for today, but shot against a different background with different lighting ratios...

Wow. I echo TheBadGuy's post. This is more than 'just' a wildlife photo, it really speaks volumes.
Peter, you are an incredibly talented bird photographer. I don't know what else to say, just.....wow.
Alex
Do you know where the bridge goes too?
Couldn't agree more. That, or he's just the world's first Snowy Owl tamer.
