hi all
been going through a photographers block the past few months + super busy and stuff.
anyhoo, from a a recent trip to The Netherlands, I've gone on a drug induced wacky panorama stint on a ip6

You can see the rest here --> Drugsterdam

ps
Sceptical Scribe, I was thinking of you while visiting the Late Rembrandt exposition @Rijksmuseum AND when visiting Hague. :D
You've been missed. Although that last one messed with my brain!

AFB, Scepticalscribe, Florian and MCH-1138...thank you for your kind comments.

AFB, no I don't use a blind. While the thought of a heated blind is very appealing, Snowy Owls are not a bird that you can lay in wait for.

Snowy Owl at rest:

Wow. Outstanding. Superlative photograph.

Seriously, seriously superb. Take a bow - that is brilliant.

Thanks, AFB -- glad to hear your colleagues liked it. Cheers!

Thanks, Oblomow!

Thanks, Cheese&Apple -- I may have to hang up my spurs if you start chasing hummingbirds! I am really enjoying your snowy owl series. The low-contrast shots from the past few days have a stark beauty to them, and I really like the fence posts and composition in today's.

Many thanks, Scepticalscribe -- I find the hummingbirds captivating to watch, even when I am not photographing them. One advantage to having these colorful birds frequenting my yard is that it is a somewhat controlled environment, so I can test different lighting setups, look for different backgrounds to shoot against, etc., and then try something entirely different the next day.

Very nice, AlaskaMoose. I'm with fcortese -- I don't think I'll ever get tired of these Aurora photos. I really like the clouds drifting overhead in this one. I hope to see the Northern Lights in person some day.

Similar setup for today, but shot against a different background with different lighting ratios...

Lovely shot, excellent. And, what a real pleasure it is to be greeted with hummingbirds and Snowy Owls both……when one drops in to pay a vista to this thread……Superbly well done, both of you…..

Another one from the recent spate of blizzards in New England. This one holding my camera at arm's length outside of a window looking out on my deck with the camera aimed blindly orthogonal to my position with a 20mm lens.

Thanks, AlaskaMoose and Scepticalscribe, for your kind comments.

I decided the hummingbirds deserved a day or two off, so I wandered over to a local field and spent a couple of hours seeing what I could find...

Took a wander today

Today took a wander through the Necropolis in Glasgow. Happy with some of the results.
