It feels like Spring today, at a wonderful 63 degrees!!! The geese and Hooded Mergansers were out there enjoying it, and it was clear that Spring is in the air.....even if not quite here yet.

Honking happily, celebrating this nice day:

Not hard to do, but not recommended! Malcom Forbes once replied to a reporter's question about the danger of riding a motorcycle, he said "Life without risk isn't worth living". The best one is "Only a motorcycle rider knows why a dog hangs his head out a car window."

My only issue with motorcyclists is when they decide to “open up” in residential areas, though I guess the same holds true for the guys with sports cars, too.

I agree with you, I run stock exhaust which is very quiet. Mine is also a V4 which doesn't make whine of an inline four, most which run after market exhausts which are loud. Then there are the Harley guys who run straight pipe on much bigger engines. There is one Harley dude who lives in my neighborhood who loves to run by in first gear at full blat. The guys with little no nothing cars who put loud cans on are a pain too. All noise, no go. Don't judge us all by the multitude of airholes. I know first hand, second hand and third hand that it is not if a bike will crash but when. That is why I ALWAYS where full protection. We have an acronym that we go by: ATGATT, all the gear all the time. I wouldn't be here if I didn't wear a full face helmet.

One more for Sherlock, Cat IT Manager,

In post 497, you saw him managing his staff (me) while upgrading a 2009 MacBook. Here he is at rest, by the successfully upgraded laptop, basking in the glow of a backlit Apple logo. "I taught the kid everything he knows!"

I met her once.
Me too. Not a tall girl but affable. Met her dad once too - bit lively, likes his own turn of phrase but did make two incisive remarks which I still recall. One was on the inherent qualities that Chinese characters had as enduring metadata: "English is a spoken language that (changes and) is written, but Chinese is a written language that is spoken". The other was the need he had to preserve the content of all of the movies he had made.
