There is a group of cats that hang around our area. They are not really feral, they have been fixed and returned. Two sleep on my front porch and are at my door at 6 am looking for food. Constant battle with the raccoons at night if I don't take the food in soon enough. They are almost as tame as the cats. One cat that lives behind me and outside most of the time is nearly blind and may be partially deaf, everybody looks after him, but his handicaps don't seem to faze him. I have seen him up on top of the fence walking along, he crosses the street and visits the neighbors. His defense is to howl a little when another cat approaches. In thinking about this some more, it occurs to me that probably for the cat's safety the best solution would be to keep it indoors rather than letting it wander free outdoors where there are hazards which might not be heard, but the cat might not be happy about that......

I actually had a brief photo-shoot with Mr. Cardinal. He usually flies away quickly, but he stayed and posed for several shots. Some adjustments made, but the color is straight from the camera. They really stand out on the gray days.

Our cat wouldn't. She stays out 24/7 when the weather permits. We stayed at that inn many times and I think I saw an old black cat once, in the early days.In thinking about this some more, it occurs to me that probably for the cat's safety the best solution would be to keep it indoors rather than letting it wander free outdoors where there are hazards which might not be heard, but the cat might not be happy about that......
Thanks! I didn’t even think about the game until you mentioned it, but I can see it for sure.
I finally went for a canal/camera walk for 7 miles, this was my fav photo of 70
