Archive: Another shot of Snoqualmie Falls, WA (circa August 2017). Certain fans of a TV show in the early nineties should know this view very well (minus the buildings & power lines next to the river on the right). The day was super hazy when we visited from the fires that year, so I decided to change it to B&W and add some custom color enhancements (post production):

We've been having our bird feeders raided by a family of brown rats recently, and I've been trying to outwit them. So far I've moved the feeders to another place; they have feasted on the dropped seed on the ground below, so another tack was needed.
Next I made a new high bird table using a large slippery plastic tray as the top, and found the rats couldn't get to it. Because the tray has a high lip there's no spillage. So far so good, but yesterday I saw an adult rat jump up and across 3 or 4 feet from a garden table, onto the bird table. Garden table removed - round 2 today ;)

Cheers :)

203 steps...I counted!

Interesting adaption to the times. No separation possible, ascending or descending, but each landing had a plastic sheet hanging from the ceiling allowing traffic to pass each way. So look to see if the next section is clear, take it, and pass traffic on the each landing.

I hoped the question wouldn't have to be asked, but I understand the show was an acquired taste. Twin Peaks. My personal shot of the Great Northern Hotel.
I never watched twin peaks. I was in high school at the time and I probably didn't care enough about it to tape it every week on the vcr. I did have a couple of friends who really followed it, but I was probably more interested in school than tv at that stage.

I consider myself lucky that our fiber is deep in the ground and that there are no little excavators in the neighbourhood. These are a bigger threat than wind. Living in country made of mud and sand has the benefit that all cables can be buried.
Would that we were so lucky. Actually our power company recently replaced all of our poles adding 10-15 feet to the height. Presumably paving the way for 5G.

If you’d like to feel better about aesthetics, search for utility poles in India, Thailand, or Vietnam.
Quite a long trek compared to the 300 foot round trip walk I made for that shot. Maybe in my next life.
Winter on Åland.
Love the Litho treatment, and this from the guy who hates big splashes of white!

If the bird feeder is on a pole - lubricant the pole so the invaders slide down if they try to climb it.

I had heard about the show, but I didn't start watching Twin Peaks until the third season was slated to come out in 2017.
