Love this Peter. Great light!

Squeaky bum time! That is a cracking shot.

I'm absolutely loving the darkness to this portrait, Peter! The sense of impending menace and the dimension added through the darkness is bang-on the money for the 'fine art' crowd! Hint, hint. ;)

Thanks very much guys. "Squeaky bum time"...can't say I've ever heard that one before but I like it Ken and will no doubt use it myself. :)

Really? must be a Brit saying. No description needed I assume ?

It is a fabulous dark, sinister shot with a threat about it, it could be a public safety poster.

Not at all mate. Toys are nice to have if you can afford them. Hence my 20+ watch collection ;)

AH but I appear to have kicked the watch habit by trading it for a camera habit. I must have been a Magpie in a former life as I am hypnotized by shiny things in glass cabinets.

Deep down I am just desperate to be able to take nice images and it is frustrating the life out of me... aaargh!

I like this one. Not particularly artistic but the shadows and transitions caught my eye.

Yeah I haven't managed to substitute one for the other I'm afraid. I've just added an obsession :)

Practice makes perfect Ken. It'll come in time.

I really like how you have isolated the central point of emotion. The child on their parents shoulders enjoying the display. Really like the use of negative space.

Thanks Ken. I must admit I was initially hoping for people-free shots but too many people around so thought I'd try and make use of them instead. As always, a bit of luck that they stood still enough for the 3-sec exposure...

It is a wonderful, perfect picture. As we say "you have an eye".;)
Many thanks but far from perfect.

Kinda bittersweet, a memory of all our childhoods...

The River Eden, yesterday...

Thanks Doylem and others that have commented. You kind of summed up what I was feeling when I shot it. The light seemed to work for what I was hoping to achieve. Took several really crappy photos of the scene with distracting backgrounds before this composition came together and clicked in my head.

Love this shot of yours by the way :)

Inspired by some of AlexanderofOz's recent long exposure submissions. Comments always appreciated.

Dreamy oceanic sunset

[I'm a neophyte, so take my opinion as such.]

The colours and tones are nearly there. The blue in the sky is a bit out of balance, being too saturated for my eyes. You need to break images like this down into parts for better post-production. This can be done with ease in Lightroom, through the use of an ND Filter type effect, just for the sky. This would allow you to moderate the blues in the sky and have a separate control over the waters appearance too.

I'm not sure if you have a waterproof tripod, but if you do, you could try different POV's, such that you end up with all manner of images that concentrate upon certain parts and compositions of the old jetty posts. I'd be tempted to start off with concentrating on the birds and various placements, so they are above and then below the horizon line and using various positions of the tripod in conjunction with various reaches of your lens. It currently feels a little cramped, with the far stumps forming one lump of black.

I hope that makes sense?!

I'm absolutely loving the rich gold tones here! Originally, I thought it was an internal ceiling for a Freemason's building, but then I saw you called it 'Rotunda.' Now I'm itching to see the outside of it.

I'm gonna be cheeky and post what may be a repeat image of recent times. Sorry if that is the case.

I just found out a few hours ago that this image (below) and another of mine have been chosen to be published in CameraPixo's latest fine art magazine offering, "Fine Art 03 - B&W Urban Nature."

This image below was the recipient of an Editors Choice award. Considering that the majority of images published are from international award winning artists, it's a nice nod of the head to receive and for me to see that I'm on the right track with my architectural imagery.
