It is a wonderful, perfect picture. As we say "you have an eye".

Love this Peter. Great light!
Squeaky bum time! That is a cracking shot.
I'm absolutely loving the darkness to this portrait, Peter! The sense of impending menace and the dimension added through the darkness is bang-on the money for the 'fine art' crowd! Hint, hint.
Coyote - on guard:
Thanks very much guys. "Squeaky bum time"...can't say I've ever heard that one before but I like it Ken and will no doubt use it myself.
I need to be happy with my gear I have I think. Just being a spoilt brat. :-(
Not at all mate. Toys are nice to have if you can afford them. Hence my 20+ watch collection
Yeah I haven't managed to substitute one for the other I'm afraid. I've just added an obsessionAH but I appear to have kicked the watch habit by trading it for a camera habit. I must have been a Magpie in a former life as I am hypnotized by shiny things in glass cabinets.
Deep down I am just desperate to be able to take nice images and it is frustrating the life out of me... aaargh!
I really like how you have isolated the central point of emotion. The child on their parents shoulders enjoying the display. Really like the use of negative space.
Many thanks but far from perfect. It is a wonderful, perfect picture. As we say "you have an eye".
Thanks Doylem and others that have commented. You kind of summed up what I was feeling when I shot it. The light seemed to work for what I was hoping to achieve. Took several really crappy photos of the scene with distracting backgrounds before this composition came together and clicked in my head.Kinda bittersweet, a memory of all our childhoods...

Well deserved!I'm gonna be cheeky and post what may be a repeat image of recent times. Sorry if that is the case.
I just found out a few hours ago that this image (below) and another of mine have been chosen to be published in CameraPixo's latest fine art magazine offering, "Fine Art 03 - B&W Urban Nature."
This image below was the recipient of an Editors Choice award. Considering that the majority of images published are from international award winning artists, it's a nice nod of the head to receive and for me to see that I'm on the right track with my architectural imagery.
