Also as an alternative crop (which is just how your image looks on my iPhone as I type this), how about lose the castle by finishing your shot at the shore line. So the boat becomes the focus and the castle is just a reflection?

I was trying various crops for this using my hands as rough frames and I reckon AFB has it right on the money!

I'm absolutely loving the rich gold tones here! Originally, I thought it was an internal ceiling for a Freemason's building, but then I saw you called it 'Rotunda.' Now I'm itching to see the outside of it.

Thanks. I'm happy with the colours considering the light inside wasn't the best. The building is the ROM in Toronto.
See post #113 for the outside.

I know what you mean about crapy stuff next to your subject.
When the sky is as uneventful as this, sometimes a B&W looks better.

Really like the shot, maybe could you lift the shadows a touch though to give the main structure a bit more detial?

If you've shot this as a RAW image, you might be able to lift the shadows and blacks to reduce the reflection quite a bit actually. I really like the boat in the foreground, that's a good point.

Thanks, I've taken your feedback into account and posted some additional variants in this new thread...

Blew the damn highlights! That's what you get for taking sneaky hip shots.

I liked the look of disgust on her face when using her phone as she was really smiley otherwise.

X100T @F2, ISO 400, 1/400

I really like that effect you have. I think normally it would be a sign of over processing (see the lights in the upper right) but on this grainy picture it works really well - hope this isnt offensive comment.

Not offensive at all. I ballsed up the exposure because I was shooting blind so the highlights blew. The treatment seemed appropriate in the circumstances.

I took this picture while jogging, was surprised to see a young fawn this close to a road. Reason for posting would like advice on how to deal with the sun on grass issue in the front of the photo, thanks.

Cute little guy JamesMike. The sun on the grass is going to be tough to deal with. The easiest would be to crop of as much as possible then maybe clone-out the most obtrusive parts that are left over like the big fuzzy top thingies.

Thanks, C & A! Will work on it tomorrow.
