Thank you!

Thanks. I'm glad too. I hope I continue to post stuff. I'm traditionally more of a lurker than a poster when it comes to forums, haha.

So was I... but start posting and you will come on leaps and bounds.... seriously, this is a safe place to explore your hobby. We have no interest in flaming anyone, we dont judge people by their equipment and we just want to get better ourselves. We know we dont have to be negative to do it and we have a laugh along the way so keep posting...

Looks as though you got more blue sky than we did! Even if it was momentary :)

I Agree Kenoh, come on Kallisti, we need to know if Ish's aversion to wallpaper is all inclusive, or period specific to run down abandoned properties hehe .. Could potentially be some interesting shots if there was a way in there....

Lol! I don't like wallpaper with bold patterns anyway, but I seriously don't like the feel of musty, old abandoned properties. I have a nephew who's very good at those type of shots but it's really not my scene.

Having built our own house twice (two houses, not because one fell down the first time!) I'll be very interested in seeing your progress. Can't find the post now, but did you say you were replacing the old one?

Well it was nice when we set off. I was foolish enough to leave my camera in my bag for that part thinking I would get better shots from the top.
This one was on the way down and it started to clear a little. I'd loved to have better weather, but that's photography for you. When I get a lovely sky I'm usually stuck in the office. When I'm somewhere nice, it's dull and grey.

I wish this one would fall down, or that one of the big trees would fall on it. Yes, we are building a brand new house.
Have spent the last few months with the architect whilst waiting for clearing permits. Should be able to start demolition before the end of the month.

In regards to musty? That would be an improvement in this place. I can't see one thing in there that could possibly have been upgraded since 1920, including the carpet.

I think you need to trespass a bit if you are going to get the full effect on this one :) 18mm is begging for up close and personal!

Yeah, since the property is for sale I wasn't too worried that the police would show up and shoot me on sight for reaching into my camera bag. I did take some more up close and personal pics, but wasn't happy with any of the compositions in hindsight.

I like this composition because of the framing of the house with foliage on the left and right as well as the foreground details in the lower left. The subject looks smaller (which is the opposite of the usual aim with an ultra wide) but in this case I prefer it and was what I was going for.
