I love cityscape shots like this. And the narrow aperture worked awesome for showing the sun's flare.

I dig this as a kind of emotive portrait shot, and I always like portraits like this.

Nikon D80 + 50mm F/1.8
Exposure: Aperture Priority
Shutter Speed: 1/350
Aperture: f/1.8
Focal Length: 50 mm
Flash: Off
ISO: 100

Had to take my 50 out any play with it finally, but shooting handheld at F/1.8 is not the best idea!

Next time I'll pack the tripod...

YoYoMac, your photo is really good. I think the composition and the colors are superb. It also achieves one thing that is important in photography, which is to impress and make the viewer think of what is happening in the photo.

What was your objective with this photo? What did you wanted to transmit the viewer?

It was a hard job getting to take a photo of this guy. They walk extremely fast, but eventually he got scared and stayed still for a minute.:) He wasn't very happy though.

A powerful shot (though maybe not one for the family album...). What I got from the pic is what some women say about becoming a mother: it's like losing some of their own personality, because of the never-ending demands of looking after small children. In the pic the mother's face is completely hidden and the cross-faced baby demands attention... from her and from us... Interesting shot (though I wouldn't want it hanging on my wall)...

Strong image. I like it very much.
I find the strange blurry horizon a bit distracting, draws away my attention from the baby's face.

My second 'photo of the day' with the M5 as the subject.
Don't know if anyone here read about the awful crash on Friday night - we were about a minute behind it and were stuck for a very surreal 2 hours.

I got my camera out and climbed onto the central reservation, and some bloke let me climb on top of his transit van to take this.

I would like hearing what you guys think about the composition of this one. Sometimes I think that the horizon is distracting and the sun doesn't fits where it is.

There are some excellent shots in this thread so far - I especially like the ones from YoYoMac and Roco. That kid's expression makes it almost worthy of National Geographic or Smithsonian contests!

Lovely photographic work and talent from all :)
