" Going the Same Way"

Old and new piers in Golspie.

A true Scottish day; hot, cold, windy, calm, sunny and raining.

It's not just this thread, either, it's like if I see the notification, but don't click on the link right away (for any thread I've commented on), then the notifications stop. You have to read each time, but sometimes I can't at that precise moment, then I am never again reminded to check in!

Anyway, here is today's photo. :) We visited Ft. Fisher in NC a few years ago. I was really working on framing in my images at that particular time. I had just a moment to shoot this, and my son was actually not quite in the right place, so I moved him over in PS. ;) This is one of those images that I saw in my head before I shot the image, then had to edit to make it match the vision.

Favourite bit of this is the seeming synchronicity of the two people. I realise it is not absolutely identical movement but the feeling is there and that gives the image humour and story.

I'll make up the spare room mate ;)
Well don't draw attention to it!

I better add a few more to my Flickr to get it off the front page!

Listen to the man with experience!
What were you thinking? Putting a photo of your wife on a public forum. I've been beaten for lesser crimes....
It was a moment of weakness! ;)

The honeybees found my lavendar!

For @Apple fanboy when I drove in my driveway yesterday, I saw a butterfly flitting around this plant, but by the time I got back outside with my camera, it was gone. But I immediately thought of your challenge! :D

One day! I saw loads on my lunchtime walk today. Of course my camera was at home! Nice bee and lavender shot.

Yeah right. Tell me the one about how you used to save your computer files to a cassette, and load 'film' (whatever that is) into a camera again! ;)

Ha ha ha... Guilty.... Granville!!!!!

Lest we remind you of some of the corkers you have posted of your good lady? In hospital if I remember rightly!

Another with the Zhongyi 50mm f/0.95 @ f/0.95. I'm not sure what it's T score is, though exposure seems to change in the expected direction from f/1.4 to f/0.95. Not sure if it's a full stop though (have to do some experimenting). The DOF is quite shallow @ f/0.95, especially for subjects approaching the near focus limit. Took this of the kiddo watching Peppa Pig on his iPad (and yes, we limit screen time to a couple times a week, so don't fret :)).

The sharpness of the lens goes up pretty dramatically by f/1.4, but I've mostly been shooting it wide open because--f/0.95! I have other f/1.4 lenses so thus far have been exploring it wide open (because that's kind of the point of the lens) :) It's a little soft/hazy wide open, but acceptable for how I plan to use it wide open. f/1.4 is very comparable to what I get with my other fast 50s.

Manual focus isn't bad on the Sony with its EVF. Can't imagine shooting a Noctilux with a Leica though--that would be very hit-or-miss.

Sorry to include all this technical stuff and not just present the image. Thought people might be interested though since this is such an unusual lens.

Noctilux on a leica for me is WAY more miss than hits.... i mean I might get more keepers focussing with my eyes shut!
