Tanagra (not really)
He’s a blue jay.
With all the wildlife I’ve had recently, the blue jays have been the most skittish. They are around, but they never come to the feeder anymore. My only guess is because they seem to fall victim to the area hawks more than any other bird species. Some days the jays get eaten, other days they are trying to chase the hawks away.

I don't have a bird feeder; my husband doesn't really like birds so he's a tough sell on getting one. This guy was in the wooded park we walk the dog in most days.

Bunnies have been slowly getting deeper into the village. Based on the crop I gave this to get the framing I want, I think my ideal focal length is about 500mm, so my plan of getting the 200-400 f/4 or a 500mm f/4 seems reasonable.

Image isn’t showing for me. I’ve been having issues posting to over the last couple of days.
Better? I just deleted the image (showing for me) & uploaded it oldskool manner through the Attach Files button instead of drag & drop. Thanks for the headsup!

Alexander.Of.Oz that is a lovely portrait of your dog's sniffer. And there is enough DOF to get the doofy wee face in too.
Why, thank you! I played with getting in close & having a much shallower DOF, but it didn't work very well. The falloff of focus was too sharp & she became too abstract in the distance. This positioning however, it worked nicely in my eyes.

I will have to get myself a Lensbaby setup one day, after seeing the explorations of yourself, Hugh & Molly! It's delightful.

If they are ending up on the beach you must wonder what sort of damage they are doing to the sea grasses & other sea plants in the area between where they are dumped & the foreshore as they move about on mass!

This is actually the northern part of a bay. Not a lot of grasses along this part of the coast but the tides are strong.

@Alexander.Of.Oz - this is one of two points along the shore that jut out into the bay.
Aah, I get it now! Thanks, Chris (I hope I remembered your name correctly). We have a region here along our coast with lots of sea grasses and the resident Leafy Sea Dragon communities. There have been a few artificial reefs made for enticing scuba and snorkel divers. They have mainly been decommissioned naval vessels!
