Actually for years there was often advice or comments in the POTD thread. I think I used to (as others did) used to write comments always welcome.
Do we really need rules for everything now?
Beware of the thought police! 😅

~just kidding with you, of course.

On another note, this is a wild rose that is found throughout Alaska. It has a very nasty thorn that easily breaks off the branches. I stepped barefooted on one of the branches a few days ago, and got five of the small thorns embedded in my foot. My wife got four of them out, and I had to suffer for a few days until it finally poked out of my skin enough to be pulled. The thorns are extremely sharp, thin, and fragile at the base.

Used a Canon RF 100-500mm lens. It's not a macro lens, but it can be focused a little under 3 feet of distance.

We were at a pub in Barcombe the other day when two helicopters landed in the field next to the pub and the people got out and popped in for a drink. Oh how the other half lives!

That was my introduction to flying in Great Britain. Just arrived at RAF Lakenheath, not a member of the Aeroclub yet but went to lunch with an instructor. Flew to a dismantled RAF airfield, converted to civilian use. One of the support building had a full blown pub...and that is when I learned that British flight rules allowed alcohol, where prohibited hours before flight by American flight rules. The other thing I recall about that airfield the original crossing runway was closed and farmers were storing hay on the old runway. However, due to a strong crosswind on the active runway, the instructor taxied between the bales of hay on the closed runway and goosed it out of there with a direct 25kn headwind. Landing at Lakenheath was dicey and glad he had controls with his experience as the runway also had those same 25-30kn crosswinds which was max for the Piper. Had a full crab side approach, straightening just before touchdown.
