Eastern Kingbird engaged in some personal grooming as he is smoothing and cleaning his feathers. See that bit of red on the top of his head? That's not a cut or wound; it is part of the usually-hidden red "crown" that is unique to this species.

Master of the house at a beef noodle shop near my home in Taipei. Shot with a Nikon F4 on Fomapan 400 metered at some crazy ISO value (this particular roll had exposures ranging from ISO 200 all the way to 6400), then stand developed and scanned at home.
House finch. The bird bath has been a popular watering hole with this heat and dry weather.

It's moss, the tug has been sitting in the harbor for over a year now. Slowly sinking.
.. found on an early-morning walk in the neighbourhood yesterday ... happy I took a different route ... found this lovely plant ... ready to observe, and catch some colour before it was gone.
