Where exactly is this? I love walking around those old churches, abbeys and cathedrals - irrespective of whether they are still extant and in use, or whether they were destroyed during the Reformation.

Your picture reminds me a little of Tintern Abbey; I spent a terrific day there, with some wonderful friends fem Bristol, a number of years ago.

Lovely shot, and amazing colours.

My kind of pub, too, if I am honest. The kind with cosy nooks and a dark history, and extraordinarily atmospheric. Great places for a quite drink in winter, and sipping outside in summer. Great picture.

I saw the headlines and read the story. Extraordinary.

It's Hails Abbey near Cheltenham.

Wherever I hang my hat...
A traumatic day... I was robbed, mugged in broad daylight. There was a bunch of them; I didn't see it coming. I'd just taken the first bite of a Cornish pasty (not even filling... just crust). Before I had the chance to take another bite, the pasty was gone. No time for a photo; this shot is all I have...

LOL... Sorry about your pasty! :D

This is probably one of the most taken/published shots from Angkor and I can understand why... It's fascinating and mysterious...

Maybe you're doing the wrong type of shooting. Try something with a longer barrel and a telescopic site!
Now I'm thinking about pasties....

In a coffee shop.

Lovely shot of Harcourt St; you do urban shots of Dublin at twilight very well.

Sorry, but no weasels...

Well, I'm sure the woodpecker is just as happy not to be burdened with an unwelcome passenger. Great shot, though.

Give urban stuff a rest - gray and gloomy so not many new photos. Here's one from autumn. Comments always appreciated.

Very reminiscent of the golden shades of autumn; and nicely atmospheric, too.

Ah, gorgeous. Just gorgeous. You could frame this. Outstanding shot.

Evil and uninhibited, they are. Brazen, actually.

Commiserations on your robbed lunch, especially as Cornish pasties are an entirely fitting local delicacy in your current location...

Oh, wow, thanks.

I love those old ruins, and that is a spot I have yet to visit. Must make a note of it.

Actually, I was in Cheltenham last autumn, but didn't linger as my host had explained that we could linger in Cheltenham or Cirencester, because of time constraints (and lighting and dinner) - and I chose the latter for photographs and prowling.

Fujifilm X100S shot @ ISO 6400, no noise reduction. This camera handles high ISOs really well.

Now, that is a most interesting shot, and one that is very nicely taken. Lovely lines.

Fantastic and fascinating photograph, especially with the sea present...

I am utterly amazed that you found a time when there were no tourists clambering for selfies in front of this! When I went, it wasn't exactly heaving but there were plenty of people at this spot. You're very lucky indeed!

As someoldguy said, sorry to break the line of bird pics. In my case I'll say if you look very carefully you can just see a sparrow on the ground behind the church! :)

Lovely lines, really lovely lines.

Whenever I see something that catches my eye like that, I am usually wheeling a suitcase, or focussing on dashing to a meeting, or wrecked after a long day, and so - despite that type of shot crossing my mind - I have never yet made time to take such a picture.

Haunting. A shot that conveys a sense of stillness, but not necessarily a tranquil or serene one. Very good shot.

Never mind the sparrow, I love old ruins, I like the lines very much, love the way you have captured the light which falls, and like, too, the fact that it is shot in black & white.
