In a coffee shop.
Happy to oblige. I'm really enjoying my travels around Cornwall. Spring comes so early this far south, and the light is terrific. I had a wander around the Helford River today, and found this guy delivering gas cannisters to the pub. This is the kind of pic that makes stock sales for me: something that says 'rural economy'...

Fantastic and wonderfully atmospheric. I can well imagine that the light is quite special. Actually, I've never been to Cornwall, though I am told that it is 'different'.

That shot could be used as a postcard. Very, very good and very nicely composed.

Lovely. What settings do you use?

Thanks all! It was too difficult to capture, it's cropped in pretty tight.

Here's my contribution for the day.

Evil! And awesome. That is terrific - claws out, capture imminent. Brilliant shot.

It becomes a bit of an obsession with watch collecting. Us watch geeks like to have different movements, case styles, colours, manufacture years, different watch manufacturers etc. It's basically man jewellery really ;)

Photography show?

Mate, from a watch addict of the first order. Count yourself lucky you are not a watch guy. It is horrible sometimes. It is a terminal GAS situation. I think MacRy will agree and like he has already stated, it is about the small details, the different movements, a display back here, a rare dial design, a particular clasp or crown mechanism, luminosity, loose relationship to space/deep sea/adventure. It never ends. Still I am getting over my watch addiction now. Well, no actually, I have just replaced it with a legacy lens addiction. DAMN YOU GAS!!!

Thanks! I think I'll save my money in case the X-Pro2 is as sweet as I'm hoping it will be. :) Enjoy the watches!

Letters

Hi Guys,

One for today, a shot from my daughters' bedroom, I dont know nothing artistically earth shattering, just something that I like and I hope you do too. I like the sharpness, the colours and the 3d effect of the letters against the window. Dont know, kind of meh... but something nice to look at. MAybe it is because it is my daughters stuff... hope you enjoy it.

Here's another from Angkor... it really was like a scene out of Indiana Jones, you could walk into these dark passages and be startled by bats fluttering about. You would have to avoid large spider webs (home to spiders the size of your hand)... very unsettling.

In this particular image, you can see a face carved in the stone poking out in a gap in the tree roots on the right side of the doorway...

This rusted hook caught my eye while out walking a local trail. I might go back with a different lens to give it another go with more depth of field.

It really is a disease isn't it fella :) We're obviously very alike as I also have legacy lens GAS. I actually have to take regular breaks from the watch forum that I frequent to give my wallet a rest, as I just keep finding more and more models that I "need" to have in my collection. My only saving grace is that I'm not a wealthy man, so I can only afford the lower end models and not the Pateks, JLC's, AP's, Vacheron's etc. that I really want/need. Here's one final shot of the newest addition just for you:

And Ish - you ladies don't need so many shoes and bags but you still buy them right? ;)

Spiders the size of your hand? Did you photograph any of them?
I like the processing of these images.

Love the sense of depth and the almost dreamy nature. A lot tidier than my daughter's room to boot!

To all the ornithologists that have been posting, I'm amazed at the quality of what you are producing whether owls or eagles. Lots to be proud of.

Oh yes we are alike my friend. I too would love that list you have put there! In fact the mere mention of Vacheron tells me we are maybe too alike!

Like a blue sky, I love a nice display back case. Nice shot of it! Thanks for reigniting my desire for a display back!

Ha ha... It was a creative angle 90 degrees to the left would reveal the carnage that most parents can relate to. I should have moved the hair dresser head thingy too but something is just nice about it. Thank you for comments.

Lol! Not so much me, my friend! I have small feet and find it difficult to get comfortable shoes so don't really like shoe shopping. I have one small bag that I got when I went to Buckingham Palace, my camera bag which I use to carry my X100T, purse and cards and a rucksack. The camera bag's got a bit tatty now so I wouldn't mind a new one … :)

You might have to go across to Devon for a few days then hurry back to Cornwall. The Helston Floral Dance and the Padstow Hobby Hoss festivals are in early April. Well worth the time. Nothing like a nice pagan festival to delight the senses :)

Luxulyan Valley is a bit off the beaten track but is also worth a visit. Let's face it... there are hundreds of photo opportunities... I am just reminiscing.

I did, but it's hard to tell the size without something to show scale. This one's leg span was about hand width with a body the size of a mans thumb... (breaking the rules to post another photo today - so sue me! :p)

Nicely captured

We have a variety of those long bodied spiders down here. This one is known as a Banana Spider. It's body is about the size of a man's thumb. From end to end, about 6 inches. Perhaps more. They're quite the web builders.
