Welcome to a world of desire, wanton lust and frustration. You will be after some lenses too... :)

Kind words, an honour to make the list thank you, but get posting and get involved. Welcome aboard and get out of lurking in the shadows, the lighting and the composition looks better out here... :)

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. Magical moment.

Thanks kenoh, definitely life changing. Lenses haha oh yes, got a decent trio to start with I think, but I can see myself already eventually justifying more hehe. 50mm 1.4 prime, 24-120mm f4 and 80-400mm.

Welcome. You're too kind. Congrats on the birth of your daughter.
No need to wait until you've learnt a few things to start posting though. Just jump right on in. I've only been shooting a few years, but have had lots of advice and encouragement on here.
Glad your doing it proper with a Nikon! ;)

Thanks, I spent a few hours in the store trying canons and nikons, and the d810 felt best in hand, so splashed out. All my pro friends shoot Nikon, d4's but that would have been too over indulgent!!

I don't have a GAS problem *twitch* I've embraced the inner voice telling me to buy new lenses.... oddly it sounds just like Kenoh ;)

Welcome to the madhouse OzBok. Post away and receive some great advice from a wonderful bunch of people. I'll join in the baby pics with one of my godson I took at the weekend.

Welcome to the photography forums, you'll find a friendly and helpful bunch hereabouts! :)

Thanks Alex, love your streetscape/building shots what lens do you use mainly for that?
Out for the day. Something more cheery than my usual. Comments always appreciated.

Well, I was on the front, just in front of the Hotels, looking at the end of the pier on a very cold and sporadically wet day in November. Took my Mum out for the day and she loves Llandudno ... first time I've been there in probably 45 years. Spent some of my misspent youth in Rhyl, Llandudno etc.

I love the compression ... v nice shot.

Thanks Ian - I was pleasantly surprised by the compression myself - only 300mm on a Canon 6D but worked pretty well. the daffodil photos were taken near Rhualt just off the A55. I've a couple more to post that should rekindle the dreich atmosphere of your last visit (as it happens it was a lovely day weather-wise for me).

Surely the word 'host' would have given away the flowers' identity...

I WANDER'D lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils...

:)

A man of culture....:)

This morning in Glencoe...

Lovely - one of my favourite areas in Scotland. I walked the West Highland Way through Glencoe in 1980 and it was dry for the full trip!

Dry in the UK? Must have been a short trip!
Nice coastal shot btw.

Mine for today.

Not the greatest shot of the kiddo, but something about it keeps drawing me back to it...prompting me to share.

I can see why. The picture has a lot of emotion. He's either very sad or trying to solve the world's refugee crisis in his head.

Wow, Peter. These animals-in-the-snow shots have been amazing. You definitely have a great talent for nailing these photos!

Thank you kindly Florian.

Wildlife in the snow is a favourite subject of mine...colours, cleaner backgrounds and all that. Unfortunately, we had a very mild winter this year without much snow so these shots required a 4 hour drive north from home.

The huge majority of people around here thought it was a great winter. Me, not so much.

Cheers,
Peter

I guess I've been away from here for a while. I see things are continuing to roll along well with some great images as usual.

A couple of weeks ago I was convinced to shoot my first wedding when a couple I know decided to get married now that they can legally do so. They've been very happy with the images I took.

They had a Wizard of Oz theme to the wedding. This rainbow backdrop was set up for guests with various Wizard of Oz props to take candid photos. I think it worked pretty well for one of their posed shots, too.

Nice coastal shot btw.

Being a lot younger then, I walked fast although the West of Scotland has been known to be dry for more than two days in a row (reportedly). Speedy trip also has the benefit of less exposure to the famous midges!

Another from Llandudno. Taken from the same spot as the B&W posting but at the 70mm-end. Comments always appreciated.
