I don't understand the meaning of this question.
Churches that are used for mass?
Churches that can be visited to appreciate the history and architecture?
Churches that are permanently staffed and welcoming people seeking shelter or asylum?
I like to visit churches and admire the architecture, but I dislike the institute they stand for. ( but this forum is not the place to start this discussion ).
The point was a gentle question about modernity.
ie. in an ever growing non believing society (mostly western developed) there is a seeming heightening of the number of churches that feel the need to be more defensive (thieves, vandals) than welcoming. Nothing abrasive meant.....
I am sitting in my house free and easy, I do not mean to offend. Just thinking with my fingers. If I had someone here to talk to that would have been an aside. Hmmm.. I'm supposed to be a tough house?

No problem - constructive comment is always a good way to learn and improve but style is more a personal preference. IMHO this group generally strikes the right balance between fun and learning and acts as a great gateway for people like myself to get into photography and to explore and develop to whatever extent they want/can. Yes, sarcasm is unbecoming but I'm human
Simple reason for cropping the corners - focal length of lens and inability to take enough steps backwards in that spot. I'd guess we all know instinctively that the corners are there so didn't think their omission was a great sacrifice.
Understood.
It often strikes me that my own problems in framing an image are not relevant to others
. Must be less questioning!
Sometime, I will admit (most times) my best stuff is because I had no choice but to press the button!
Amazing how often I have (over many years) taken the 'plaudits' for an image I thought was (not very good) **** because it was beyond my control
I like VM the image anyway. Go figure.
