Limestone 'pavement', Yorkshire Dales...

Really annoyed with myself at this shot. I blew the exposure on his face. It was my first time out on the street with my M9 and I haven't got to grips with the metering. I should have taken another shot but didn't as I was hurrying for my train. Wish I'd have missed it now.

Hmm... I Think the shot is pretty good as it is, the high contrast gives it a nice bit of grittiness. How would you meter this given the high contrast? If you meter for the shadows there's a good possibility of blowing the highlights on his face.

Thanks. If I had metered for the highlights I could have brought the shadows up in post and had some detail in his head.

I agree it is a good shot. Nothing bad about showing a ray of sunshine on a guy's face.

I think it adds to it, the weak light shining through. The guy enjoying what little but there is just warming his face as he waits for passing trade...

Looks fine to me. Gotta be morning light, judging by the heights of the newspaper piles. :)

More from the Celtic Fringe. Comments always appreciated.

Personally I wouldn't change a thing - great mood.
