"Where in the world is Alfred?"
Standing on the roof of a townhouse just across the lake from me in beautiful Northern Virginia, USA...... :D

For those who are relatively new to this subforum and thread, Alfred has been featured in quite a few of my POTD posts over the past year or so; he is the resident Great Blue Heron (GBH) who has been fun to watch and photograph -- sometimes I walk down the boardwalk to the other end of the lake to say hi to him, and at other times, such as today, I can see and photograph him right from my deck. Didn't see much of him this past winter, but with the weather warming up I know he'll be around more frequently now.

You have your cats.....I've got my Alfred! :D

Wrens are fun to watch. They do things that don't seem to make sense, but they seem rather confident in whatever it is that they are doing.
They are always fast little things, hard to even find in the view finder before they move on. It has only become possible to get them this week since I got my 500mm on Tuesday. My old 300mm f/2.8 never kept up with them and my 70-200 f/2.8 even with the 1.4x TC never got close enough. Perhaps a lack of skill or that I just needed 500mm to have a fighting chance, may they wee fat things continue to fill my frame.

A long term stray cat, she has been coming around our backyard for about 2 years (I have pictures of her that old).

She has gotten to the point where she will sniff my fingers, but still doesn't want to be touched.
