A double from about this time last year.
Hawks are not as skittish as smaller birds. I once got so close to a red-tailed hawk that I had to back up to get the hawk's picture as I was shooting with a 200-600mm lens. The hawk was too busy chowing down on a dead black squirrel and his partner was in a tree give me that look that if I got any closer a dive bomb would be happening. 🤣
I do as well but I like to do pairs with the verticals so that all the slides in a presentation are horizontal.
Orion Nebula
A7R4, 135mm on EQ mount. Around 20x20sec images were selected and picked from the whole session, stacked in PixInsight and processed with other software. Final image is cropped more and resized for forum purposes.
At the place where I stay Orion Nebula is visible and rises early in the morning, an hour or two from dawn in September, October when it was most appropriate to try to photograph it.
I only managed to find one autumn night when the moon phase was correct, there were no clouds, excessive wind or other obstacles, and then I finally had around 1 hour to capture the exposures after staying up all night. That’s the story behind it.
Because of both low solar activity and cloud cover in the interior of Alaska, I haven't had good opportunities to take photos of the Auroras this winter, so I am posting one of several from years past. This one on a late September evening:

went along to buy some coffee beans yesterday from my local roaster. Hidden up a side street, and a plain shop front hides the wonderful flavours and aromas inside.
Little Free Library - I'm totally amazed with this Sony 135mm lens as I was across the street and can read the title of the books.
Male Pileated Woodpecker
On the ground, tearing up a fallen tree with his female partner.
This was a stacked image. Did it that way to capture both water highlights and bring out details in the deep shadows.
I have a similar photo, except instead of a dog, it’s an 8’ length of gutter downspout sticking out both sides of the rear windows!
