Looked outside after The Mentalist, and grabbed the camera!
Click to enlarge, and yes it was that red!

There's some flat-out amazing work being posted lately... and for a while, can't mention them all... but figured I'd mention these three at least...

"Turnberry Lighthouse"

Love the tones and colors... and the leaning lighthouse. I've seen this somewhere before, I think.

I keep coming back to this one... the colors and limited depth of field are just beautiful. Love the ladybug... I know you used a 17-50mm f/2.8 lens, but which one? I think I want one... ;)

One of my favorites of yours, but there's lots of company for that... your country is quite the place, where pastures could pass for golf courses... as usual, great light, great exposure. The countryside here looks a bit like my home area in Oregon, US.

Thanks... The "pastures that could pass for golf courses" are the grounds of a 'stately home'. Aristocratic families built big houses for themselves, usually with 'landscaped' gardens and parkland. Like this...

Indeed - to blazes with the TIMG tags when it comes to photo of the day posts. that had been established a long time ago.

I actually use a cheap promaster 17-50mm 2.8 without the built in motor. I think I payed $150 for it brand new from a local store. Its a really great lens.

Incredible. He looks so healthy and happy now! I hope you feel like a hero because you are one!

Thanks. I'm not really a hero because anyone with half a heart would have done what I did. Charlie did turn out to be one seriously good dog, with a healthy appetite. He's the king of the pack around my place, with 5 females that are devoted to him... ;)

What a lucky dog! He not only got a new lease on life, he ended up with his own harem! No wonder he looks so happy. :D

Seriously though, seeing the transformation in the photos is really heart warming. Hats off to you.

Balcony%20Panorama%20%28Night%29.jpg

My first day with my first DSLR (a Nikon D40). Took this panorama of the view from my balcony. It's a little blurry because I don't have a tripod and it was dark, so I needed a long exposure time. It was a quick test, but I like the way it turned out.
