Ho, ho, as if..... Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if someone -- kids -- tries it at some point during this (I hope temporary) closure, especially when the weather really begins heating up and the nights start getting sultry! The fencing where I shot this is along the sidewalk leading to the clubhouse/changing rooms/restrooms; the side which faces the parking lot is brick, and the side which faces the lake is inaccessible as there is a significant drop down to the ground at that level. On the side opposite where I was standing, again there is the black fencing but it is hard to get at due to the bushes and trees there. A gate on that side, too, opens wide to let in workers with equipment, staff to carry in furniture, access for emergencies, etc.
Speculation is that the pool may open around June 10th, which is the date the governor of Virginia had originally set as the expiration of our stay-at-home orders and other restrictions. Whether or not that actually will happen remains to be seen, though, depending upon how the number of illnesses, hospitalizations and deaths in this area goes, whether they decrease, stabilize or (gulp!) increase. When it does open, of course, undoubtedly there will be some new requirements, including social-distance placement of the chairs and chaise lounges.
