Thanks! I've seen these swallows darting around so much that when I first saw one perched on the chains of the pier last week I didn't know what it was, and then yesterday when I got a look at another one (or maybe the same guy, hard to tell) I was able to see the distinctive tail and realized what he is. I'm chuffed to have gotten one actually holding still enough to have grabbed a shot, as there's no way I could capture one in flight!Lovely capture of one of these little guys -- they're beautiful and so fast-moving!!
Yes, longer lenses help the R6 (less cropping).
I was not aware there was a Canon RF 400mm f/2.8 until I looked for it at B&H, but it is as expensive as the EF version.

A prime with such an aperture (f/2.8) should work quite well with a RF 2x TC if you ever need that much reach. That lens is a monster!
wow... is it strictly your hobby or do you make money from your photos?I just bought the Canon EF 600mm f/4 III.
It was just that great of a deal at one store here in Stockholm. I got it for $15686 instead of $18703 (translated from Swedish krona to US $) Will arrive on monday or tuesday. It's going to be a fun summer

Version III, I imagine? That is a great lens! It also gives you 200mm extra reach over the EF and RF 400mm f/2.8. Any reasons for not buying the RF 600mm f/4?I just bought the Canon EF 600mm f/4 III.

be prepared for a droppingSweet Mother of God, they are coming right at me! ?
Suddently I don't feel so bad springing for my PL100-400! It was the most I had ever spent on one piece of gear. Then again, I bought it with the stimulus money they kept passing out, so the guilt was pretty short-lived. I almost always have the longest lens slapped on my G9 based on what I shoot for fun.only the price. Nothing else it was the cheapest one, even if I could afford the RF one. Been selling my old gear and I’ve been saving som money as well du to the pandemic. Not been abroad on any vacation since 2019
