Stuck with just my 50mm f/1.8 II until the 24-105 comes back this week from the hospital, so I couldn't get as wide as I would have liked for this one.

Had a play with some inside stuff today. Not the best results, but was a bit of fun. The off flash lighting was an LED torch. Got some interesting shapes in the water.

Not very sharp and heavily cropped, but I think he looks like a little alien!

I like it: the expression (mild resignation?) and warm colour palette (a bit like an Edward Hopper painting??). Oh, I just like pubs in general...

I think it might have been mild intoxication rather than resignation ;)

I liked the warmth of it also. It was pretty much straight out of camera JPEG. Surprisingly good for ISO3200.

You can't beat an old English pub eh!

Indeed!

There was one directly behind me in that photo which is partly why it has a nice warm glow to it.

If she only poses when she's intoxicated you know what do.
"Honey, my next investment in photographic equipment will be 568ml glass...."

Lol. I like the way you think. It's a fine line to walk though because then I run the danger of this happening....

You are not supposed to open car windows on a safari, but hey, they looked so harmless.

Hitchhikers by FriskyFreeze, on Flickr

Nice closeup but what a coincidence that you should write that, this morning the Nat'l Zoo tweeted that a zookeeper was bitten by a zebra. The first tweet added that the zebra was fine. The following tweet seemed a bit like an afterthought though, the zookeeper was "talking and conscious" on the way to the hospital...

Never underestimate a zebra.

Edit: Hmmm, the tweets seemed a bit humorous at first but this was actually a very unfortunate incident. The keeper was bitten multiple times & was bleeding, and the incident upset a very rare 1-year old Dama Gazelle so much he ran into a barrier and died of shattered vertebrae. Very sad.

If she reads your posts your sleeping on the settee.

My wife and daughter both refuse to have their picture taken. It's a real shame as they are both beautiful, and it's a whole type of photography I can't do.

She'd agree with me. Trying to get a shot of her looking normal is a real mission. The trick is stealth and bribery. Try it with your ladies and see if it works.
