Tree at night with the moon in the background. 16s exposure on a tripod @ f/11 and ISO 400. Because it was night, had to set focus at infinity and hope the combination of the 35mm lens and the small aperture would get everything in focus. While most of the leaves have fallen, a few remain. Almost B&W, but the remaining leaves add a little splash of muted autumn color. I'm usually into lines in my photos and this one is a little chaotic with lines going everywhere, making the composition somewhat cluttered.

Great shot!!! Those "in flight" shots towards the camera are not easy to do, and you nailed this one. Good job :)

Thanks Robert...much appreciated. I have to say that I've missed seeing your shots around here lately.

From the bird-banding the other weekend, unfortunately on the Sunday, the nets were like this for the most part. We only got to band four birds that day. They were active all around us though, you could see and hear them.

Another day, another picture. Left over machinery from an old mining location, adjacent to where the bird-banding was most recently held.

One of my favourite local pubs. It's towards the bottom of this very steep, narrow road (called 'The Struggle', from the days when horse-drawn wagons would labour up), and right at the top of the hill is... another pub.

I don't know of any other pub called the Golden Rule. I popped in yesterday, at 4pm, when most other pubs would be empty... and it was full. Good beer, log-fire, friendly people making inconsequential conversation: perfect... :)

Must be big Biffy Clyro fans! You sure it's not called the struggle as people have to walk back home from the pub?

Rendering white balance correctly is one of the keys to accurate sky color...getting better at it but not perfected yet.

Took my new 70-200mm f2.8 IS on a walk. Results are boring, not too good, but this is a really fun walkabout lens.
