I spent Sunday at the Los Angeles Zoo. Not always clear whether I was watching the animals or they were watching me...

St Mary's Church, Nantwich. Beneath every seat in the choir stall is a carving, dating from the late 14th century. There's a mermaid, St George killing a dragon, a 'green man'... and this one, which is baffling. An early version of Spiderman?

According to this site (linked from the church's website), it is the "[d]evil pulling [a] woman's mouth open for lying."

Well I wouldn't relliy on one in an emergency!

Nice picture. Love a nice distressed look.

Thanks. I really didn't do much with it in post aside from cropping.

I've been using a Singh-Ray Lighter, Brighter color intensifier filter this fall when I've been out and about with the autumn leaves. The colors in that shot were straight out of the RAW file--didn't alter them in post. Considered pulling back the reds a bit in post, but decided I liked it as shot. Ironic in a way. New filter for me and I'm still deciding how best to use it.

Having said all that, the alarm really is pretty red. The filter effect is actually fairly subtle.

The old church at Logie, Stirling with the Ochil hills in the background. Comments always welcome.

Yes we have some snow.

I'm all for big fluffy snow, but what we have outside right now is just miserable cold greyness. It should be either beach weather, or snowsports weather, this weird stuff in between is just lame

And here is from beach weather: a lake on the island of São Miguel.

P.S. yes, there is a beach down there once you get descend to the water.

I absolutely agree...head north, way north. There was fresh snow on the weekend.

Toronto in November is just plain ugly!

Why thank you sir. We were blessed with a sunny day when we visited.

My wife was so interested in the photo taking that I've had to buy a kit lens for the D60 so she can start using it.
Actually, re-buy, because I sold the 18-55 a while ago.

Will post some more ruinous parts tomorrow.

Cheers :)

Hugh
