Cool find. Was turning off the water to the outdoor spigots on our house getting ready for winter and one of the faucets had a slow drip before it eventually stopped. The temperature dropped below freezing during this and created a little ice sculpture on the ground. Experimented with different ways to light it with an external flash. Settled on this one with the flash behind and to the right which brought out some of the texture on the ice surface.
I don't find the background distracting. Not in B&W anyway. My oldest granddaughter. I really struggled with the composition on this one... I'm not sure that I like way the negative space on the right side plays against the wall on the left side... but I didn't like a tight crop, either.
Blatant plug for business!
I've never really looked into selling my photos. Don't think I'd get much interest.tbh, I was, and remain, unconcerned about selling it. I was mostly curious if it would be approved...!

Be interesting to see if you get any takers! Let us know.
Lovely flattering light. I see what you mean about the background but personally I dont think it is drawing the eye away from the subject in a negative way.

@Doylem used to sell a few, not sure which site. Not seen him on here in a while though.will do. on the subject, my poor little collection of saddo' photos on istock, haven't even picked up a glance, so I doubt I will see any sales anytime soon.

‘Curtain Hunter’
My oldest granddaughter. I really struggled with the composition on this one... I'm not sure that I like way the negative space on the right side plays against the wall on the left side... but I didn't like a tight crop, either.
I actually like the negative space on the right--I think it adds some nice balance. My only quibble would be that it's not really negative space. The bokeh is a little wonky--specifically with the upper left corner of the building in the background which has lines that are distinct enough that they draw the eye away from the subject. There is also a line above the building on the right edge. These don't ruin the image by any means, but that might be the reason you are on the fence. The building line is close enough to her left side (right side in the image) that it would be present in a crop. Maybe add an exposure gradient in LR to overexpose the right coming down from the upper right diagonally?
Or just ignore me. I think it's a really nice image and I love the tones on her and the wall. Her eyes being dark relative to the rest of her face, framed with the shadows of her hair and the leading lines on the wall really draw the viewer into the image. The negative space would work better if it was really "negative". Just my opinion.
Thought I'd got away with it!
