Seems that the world has lost the colour in this time of the year.
P.S. Some iPhone X tests...

Paoha Island in Mono Lake at sunset. The fires in Califonia were on the wane, but some smoke & haze moved through giving a real soft and almost surreal feel.

Your right, Peter. I had straightened the horizon when I was working on post-processing the RAW file but my external HD had been acting funny and I thought the changes had gone through and were saved to said external HD. It has since crashed! Soon to be replaced. Fortunately, the back external HD is working so here is the image that was supposed to be posted! Cheers.

Wow. The entire in backlight, moustache and highlight in the eye. 10/10 ( in my humble opinion)

Not an african thing, the people fixing a russian church in Lithuania did the same. ( lack of funds probably, because I learned that most Lithuanians hate Russians)

Glen of the Bar
November 2017

A cold crisp morning with a veil of mist above the valley floor over Glen of the Bar, Galloway Forest Park.
I first shot this scene around 3 years ago and I always wanted to come back for a monochrome image featuring a wider tonal range but with some balanced contrast throughout the scene. I'm really pleased with how this turned out. For better quality and to see finer details in the shadows, click the image to view in full screen.

As there seems to be a theme of 'sticks' on the roll at the moment, here's one from the State Art Gallery of South Australia for an exhibition of works by indigenous peoples that's on at the moment called "Tarnanthi". This piece investigates and explores the Nuclear bomb testings carried out by the British during the 1950's and 60's and how that affected the indigenous residents. It is constructed of nearly 500 spears that have been a part of a resurgence of indigenous men sharing their traditions of spear making and story-telling with the younger generations over the last couple of years in outback regions across Australia.

London again I'm afraid. Tried to make the most out of one location. Comments always appreciated.

Had to comment on this one. I just adore the rich and sumptuous colour palette to this one! That, and the light balance between natural declining light for the day and the artificially illuminated coming to life.

Bravo!

I’m planning a trip to Northumberland. Who lives around that area again? I need some tips to visit places for some awesome picture time.

Waiting for a plane

Talk about forming an orderly queue but i feel he may have a long wait.

A dear friend passed away recently. Immediately after he passed, the hospice nurse grabbed his watch and stopped it, to reflect the moment of his passing.

Thats a really beautiful thought from the Hospice. I love the way you used the camera to stop the already stopped time. Excellent and a very poignant image.

Thanks... It was incredibly thoughtful of the hospice nurse... very fortunate, indeed. I considered trying to add a broken watch crystal in post processing to enhance the thought of "the end", but opted for a more simple approach.
