What time you picking me up? Beautiful part of the country. Castle Bamburgh is stunning if you get good light.I’m planning a trip to Northumberland. Who lives around that area again? I need some tips to visit places for some awesome picture time.

I thought it was the Big Market for the birds?Good call. All the way up the coast is wonderful. Depending on your route I recommend:
Assuming you will arrive around Newcastle ish...
Durham Cathedral (short train from Newcastle)
Angel of the North
Alnwick Gardens
Alnwick Castle
Warkworth Castle
Bamburgh Castle
Lindisfarne
Duddo standing stones
Farne Islands for the birds
That should get you started...

Wrap up warm. It'll be baltic out there! Thanks a lot. I’m planning to go on the Christmas weekend. Hoping to catch the northern lights. Fingers crossed
Absolutely, you have to be there and click away over that (for us here, it's normally about half an hour) time frame to get the best result! I love taking a photo every few minutes over that duration and arriving home to see the plays of light at work as they shift and change, especially when viewed on the big screen in the home office.Cheers Alexander, I like that sort of natural/man-made lighting balance myself but only lasted for 5-minutes.
Sometimes, well it seems to happen a lot with art 'installations', I just don't get it!

Ahh!! I get it now.. feel bad sorry.... I wasnt ignoring you... I just hadn't been notified there was a post you need to put @ in front of it not # otherwise it doesnt notify you... I kind of like this and the last one of the wave. I prefer the angle of the last one but didnt like the way the top cut off the water. I like this one for having captured more of the waves but I think the rock framing is consuming too much of the frame. We certainly arent getting light like that here right now.
Speaking of which I am off to Helsinki and Stockholm next week... checked the weather... I might need to take a coat..... and a hat....
Nice composition.
iPhone 7 - Granite Island
Nice, but I agree with Ken. A little too much rock in the foreground.
Nice.Sunset, night before last....

Fantastic
Wow. The entire in backlight, moustache and highlight in the eye. 10/10 ( in my humble opinion)
Glen of the Bar
November 2017
A cold crisp morning with a veil of mist above the valley floor over Glen of the Bar, Galloway Forest Park.
I first shot this scene around 3 years ago and I always wanted to come back for a monochrome image featuring a wider tonal range but with some balanced contrast throughout the scene. I'm really pleased with how this turned out. For better quality and to see finer details in the shadows, click the image to view in full screen.
