Seems that the world has lost the colour in this time of the year.
P.S. Some iPhone X tests...

Was wondering if that was from an iPhone X before I noticed the text underneath. The blurring doesn't obey DOF and the sharper background seen through the holes in the bird feeder is a dead giveaway ;).

I saw a sample image (I think on Ars Technica) of a subject wearing glasses facing slightly off axis and the background through the glasses was sharp while the remainder of the background was blurred. It's an interesting idea, but I don't think the software is quite there yet.
[doublepost=1511315114][/doublepost]Just started messing around with focus stacking this weekend. Despite using a 25mm lens @ f/9 with focus set at the hyperfocal distance, the lower left was blurry in the single shot. I took several at various focus distances and then stacked them in software to get front-to-back sharpness. It was a first attempt and need to play with the stacking software some more, but I think it has potential for some subjects.

Hmmm, nice but me thinks this is what a proper Land Rover looks like.

This is what confuses me with them... in this context they are untouchable, they can handle pretty much anything... however, get them in an urban scenario and they are a bloody nightmare! so as long as you beat the living hell out of them they are awesome... treat them with loving care and they will be high maintenance and cause you woes...

However.... urgh square butt lights! WTH?!?!

Ignoring what? what did I miss?

This series of LEs from that spot are fantastic! the different processing and crops and orientations give a multitude of different feels to the image... nice

Ahh!! I get it now.. feel bad sorry.... I wasnt ignoring you... I just hadn't been notified there was a post you need to put @ in front of it not # otherwise it doesnt notify you... :) I kind of like this and the last one of the wave. I prefer the angle of the last one but didnt like the way the top cut off the water. I like this one for having captured more of the waves but I think the rock framing is consuming too much of the frame. We certainly arent getting light like that here right now.

Speaking of which I am off to Helsinki and Stockholm next week... checked the weather... I might need to take a coat..... and a hat....

no need to feel bad, the # was intentional :)
I concur on your remarks on both pictures. pity I cannot photoshop them together to create a frankenphoto of sorts

So here is a shot i rejected for last weeks competition as I felt there wasn't enough motion in it. Didn't want @needfx to think I'd just photoshopped it in!

lmao, I agree, the other shot was more interesting. this is somewhat static midair despite the motion blur

I took about 200 without the hand but wasn't happy with what I was seeing. Then I realised it needed a hand to give a bit of focus.

Now I just need to think of something for this weeks....
@kenoh can I take a shot of your old worn out M9?

We had long wheel base Defenders at work, firstly given us to tow and launch rigid inflatable boats for fast patrolling / intercepts, but once we got the hang of them we found them excellent for off road patrolling.
However I got one stuck in a ploughed field and tried to winch it out of the mud from a tree - the winch pulled the tree out of the ground ;)
I also remember another incident where we got stuck across a ditch (a short wheel base would have made it across), and it cost us £20 from the local farmer to tow us out with his tractor ;)
Superb vehicles, but not brilliant on tarmac as Ken said.

Cheers :)

Lol and you have to drive with the window open as there is no room for your elbow when turning the wheel!

Lottery win list: 911 and a 190...

Nice POV, I like the extra tall aspect you have cropped this in. I have captured this building so many times. She keeps on offering something new every time I go back to her!

Good to see somebody else here from Adelaide!

I'm sure. My D750 looks pretty mint to as it doesn't get too many outings. Hope to put that right next week as I'm off work.
