How do you find the Lensbaby with the Z6?
I'm currently waiting for a Z50 on pre-order
Cheers
Hugh
My Lensbaby is older than the v56 (it's the version where you insert a disc for aperture choice) but it's also an F mount.Focus peaking is awesome! My V56 is an F mount so I'm using the adapter, but I love the focus peaking.
Can't wait for you to get the Z50!! ?
Three cheers for new gear!My Lensbaby is older than the v56 (it's the version where you insert a disc for aperture choice) but it's also an F mount.
I've ordered body, spare battery, 16-50mm and FTZ adapter, and so will be keeping most of the lenses from my D5200.
Should be released tomorrow but not sure when the store will ship
Cheers

I also found a discount voucher for £140 ($180) which helped a lotThree cheers for new gear!
OK, so my discount on the Z50 turns out to be the FTZ adapter thrown in for free if you pre-orderI also found a discount voucher for £140 ($180) which helped a lot

I think the adapter is basically standard now. Nikon needed a hook to get people to switch easily for people already shooting with their SLRs.OK, so my discount on the Z50 turns out to be the FTZ adapter thrown in for free if you pre-order

I'm with AFB -- not enough of a hook for me. Two things hold me back, one being the relative lack of new native lenses or the Z series so far and the other being that while Nikon is providing the FTZ to use with F-Mount lenses, there are some situations where that doesn't work out the way the consumer might anticipate. Not all lenses are compatible or some autofocus lenses will only work as manual lenses with the adapter. That is why I am still thinking about Sony, because they offer a couple of good macro lenses in their FE lens lineup. I really don't like using adapters and the last time I looked, it seemed as though the FTZ wouldn't really be satisfactory with many of my lenses. I'd rather buy a Sony 90mm macro lens that would be native to the A7R III or A7R IV than messing with one of the Nikon mirrorless cameras and the FTZ adapter and my Nikon macro lenses. One of them -- I think it's the 60mm -- is not listed as being compatible with the FTZ and the Z series of cameras. ?? It's been a while since I've paid attention to details about Nikon's new cameras so I may have that wrong or I may have misunderstood what I was reading. People on NikonCafe who have made the switch to either the Z6 or the Z7 seem to be very happy, although most are also still hanging on to their Nikon DSLRs as well, especially for some functions such as shooting BIF, etc.
