actually we have a leaf vacuum (not a truck kind but a push kind, like a giant lawn mower) and a compost bin. we don't rake too much because our grass complains. we only rake the beds a little and mostly my husband uses the blower to get the leaves out of the beds. we don't put our leaves to the street because the town doesn't come regularly enough for us and they just all blow back in the yard (and from our neighbors) and cause more work than just keeping them in a compost area in the back yard.

First couple of years we lived in our big old house in NY, we would diligently rake up the leaves from our 7 old maple trees, then we noticed come Nov the winds would just pick them up and blow them into the 35 acre farm field next door. Problem solved.

So you two are the ones responsible for all the leaves in my yard. I have no deciduous trees, and I still get all of the neighbors' leaves... #grumpy #getOffMyLawn :D

That's a....grate...photo. ;)
i’ve never seen diggers clean leaves before. snow yes, leaves no. we have the giant vacuum trucks here.
No such luck here. I think we can pay extra for the service, and we gotta bag it ourselves. I just mulch them all up with our mower and spread it across the garden areas. This year, I had the kids help. Free labor! Seems to work okay. Sad part is, I get way more leaves in my yard than I have trees. Lots of oaks, when all I got is redbud and maple. 🤔

Family trip to see the wife's family in Shanghai China back in May 2005. I spent a day walking around looking for some photo opportunities, and this one caught my eye. People waiting on the sidewalk, hoping for someone to choose them for work that day. Thought it made for good human interest subject material. Shot with a SONY Cyber-shot DSC-F717.
