Tripod or handheld?

Interesting caterpillar. Seems it does turn into a rather dull brown moth. Sorry...

Fuzzy Green Australian Caterpillars

Best guess is the last one in the first row: Doratifera oxleyi (Newman, 1855)
Painted Cup Moth

Dale

Thanks for that, Dale. In the past when we have found any ornate caterpillars, they have also turned out to be brown moths, that blend into the bark on trees, but love our back porch light and coming into the dining and kitchen spaces, for me to have to catch and release them again...

Hand held. Tripods are for wimps ;)

Unless you do what I did last night and take your tripod, but have the baseplate for your monopod attached to the camera body and then have to lug the dang heavy tripod everywhere with you as you shoot handheld and have a heavy backpack loaded with panoramic heads and the like for a night of tripod based shooting...

Lol. Good work fella.

Yeah tripods are definitely for night time. No doubting that :)

Went to a local drumming and fire night, last night in the city. Only managed to get handheld shots through my own stupidity of not checking what plate was attached to the base of the DSLR... :roll eyes:

This guy was good, juggling four flames at once.

Another one my dad took - this is a photo of his print, and it was exhibited in 1984, but is suspect it was actually taken in the 60s.

Wish I had the negatives for all his photos :(

Cheers :)
