Thanks Shaun, just different - could have done with a bit more light on the castle but not a bad viewpoint. 100mm lens from across the estuary. That’s a cracking shot of the castle, lovely composition. Much better than mine!
Beautiful.
Makes me feel cold just looking at this image! Love it.A Polar Bear

This view is interesting from an engineering history perspective since it shows the three bridges at Conway - the modern road bridge at front; Telford's road suspension bridge in the middle(one of the first road suspension bridges in the world); and Stephenson's tubular (box) rail bridge at the rear, again one of the first of its kind. You can see the buoy bottom-right of this photo. Beautiful.
Thanks very much guys. Shooting from a Zodiac presented some frustrating challenges but there's no way you get out on land or ice that close to a Polar Bear.Simply lovely and majestic, even. Nice work, as usual, Peter!
I've not been around much recently as I was away on holiday. I did manage to sneak one full day away to one of my favourite parts of Scotland - Perthshire - in order to get some autumn shots. Here is the first I'm posting....
Falls of Bruar
October 2017
This is a shot of the beautiful and iconic Falls of Bruar at the peak of Autumn of Perthshire.
I've been wanting to tick this area off of "the list" for over a decade now and I was not disappointed on my visit, with flat calm conditions - a few days after storm Ophelia ravaged the country.
I also had a nice time chatting to two Russian photographers who were there to enjoy the place at the peak of Autumn colour as well. They were great guys.
However, the same can't be said for a fellow Scot who was rather rude and declared that I was "cheating at photography" by using neutral density filter in front of my lens. The less said about him, the better.
The Falls of Bruar. What a place.

Lovely image. Both visually and of your family life!Really behind on this thread, I doubt I will get back through all the pages I've missed.
We went apple picking yesterday. My daughter (11, almost 12) loves the idea of getting up on her dad's shoulders to reach the tall apples, but the taller she gets, the higher she goes, and with that her nervousness also increases! Not sure how many more years they will be able to do this, but it's fun to see! (Her brother, who is almost two years older than she outweighs her by quite a bit and no longer participates in this portion of the apple picking! )
