I've run into those things far too many times in Central and South America . Always found them to be a great incentive to not spend much time in the shower . Probably some guy hammering these out from old soup cans in his basement .
One of the "dangers" of taking only a wide angle lens on a prairie hike is you have to work to find something of interest in the foreground. Alas, I did not in this instance. It's definitely not like hiking in the mountains! The only other image from this past weekend's Rocky Flats hike. I'd intended to get to a place called Lindsay Ranch, an abandoned family ranch house, but I ran out of time.
