This way to the egret ... (or heron as the case may be)

Apologies to the late P.T. Barnum

Tri-colored Heron I believe.

Very nice. Simple...and stunning. What more can you ask for out of an image? Based on this shot alone I'd say it was a good buy.

Thanks! I'm really happy with it- I did about two dozen grab shots like that of various things and everything came out well. Definitely a keeper! (I really wanted a 200mm Micro, but they didn't make the budget.)

Great bike shots Maxxamillian and Steamie!

K10D - 30s - f/5.6 - ISO100 - 12mm

This reminds me of a night beach dive I did off of Cayman Brac....similar scene only lit by the rental van headlights. Double points for this pic...good shot and memory lane for me...

An installation at the gallery I run. There wasn't enough room to get a tripod in there so it was shot handheld at 1/4 sec and ISO1600. I'm kind of surprised it turned out as sharp (if you could even call it that) as it did. I just really like the color.

On top of Umeda Sky-Biru 梅田スカイビル (Osaka).
I quite like the photo, but think I should probably have taken it w/o the white bars in it. And probably either symmetric or only the right half. Do you guys have any other ideas I should have done to improve the photo?
(I'll probably have the chance to go there sooner or later.)

Thanks for the bird ID . I'm not particularly a bird guy so you saved me some time paging through Roger Tory Peterson . Good luck with the new lens !

I like the backlighting on this... it's much more interesting than the pseudo-porn star model shots, although I certainly can see why folks take their pictures... and you did them well, nice, sharp and perfectly exposed. However, this shot has some very cool dynamics going on - the only thing that seems a bit funky is the fringing on the out of focus people. But it lends itself in some sense to the style of the image...

Thanks for the words. Ya, my Flickr activity has dramatically increased since adding the models. LOL. I tried to alleviate the fringing to no avail. I'm going to continue to work with it however.

Amazing how this lens and Canon camera can handle such low light (it was through glass case in an extremely dim area ).
