My mother moved from her condo on the water in Dunedin to my sister's on the east side of Palm Harbor. Power came back there this morning, although the condo is still out.We are alive and well. It was a rough night.
No major issues other than not many folks have any electricity.
Brisbane CBD at sunset from the Southern side of the Brisbane River, with the Goodwill footbridge on the left and the Pacific Motorway on the right.
Congratulations on the publication Alex! I've had a look through all the images and without doubt you were included in excellent company with this much deserved recognition of your work. The Story Bridge, with some of the CBD of Brisbane in the background at sunset. If you look closely, you will see a bunch of bridge walkers up top of the bridge on the left.
Just found out I had a few images published in the latest Hot Shots magazine offering from CameraPixo, 'We Inspire 23'.

Every little bit helps. What to do with an alley in an area of a city that's seen better days that you are trying to bring back? Sweep up the debris, add a few decorative benches and lights, let graffiti artist do their thing, have bars and eateries open up at the back of the properties, and call it something other than an alley. Voila! People actually wanting to hang out there.
Thanks, Peter, I was quite amazed to have been included in that one, the standard was really high from everyone. Much eye candy and moving imagery, I thought.Congratulations on the publication Alex! Nat Geo ready Lol. They'd be lucky to have him! Thanks, Peter, I was quite amazed to have been included in that one, the standard was really high from everyone. Much eye candy and moving imagery, I thought.
I hadn't submitted for a few years to them after being published a few times in the past publications, with some heavy self-doubt hanging over me for quite some time, but had a friend recently really push me to apply again.
You should apply, your imagery is drop dead gorgeous and deserves to be seen by many more folks! Actually, I reckon you're Nat Geo ready!
this is one of many photos i took whilst i was on holiday, very similar to my first post except I've just focused on the beach rather than the rose hip bush to the right.

any tips on how to improve are much appreciated.

Noted. I just don't class myself as one of the fabulous photographers on here, so think there are others more qualified. When i first joined this forum there was alot of advice and criticism offered on the uploaded photo's (not all of it kind!.) I am definitely an amateur and am certainly not qualified or experienced enough to comment on most folks photos but i do occasionally put my tuppence worth in.
My son joined this forum recently and has uploaded several photos he has taken and although i have cast my eye over them and tried to offer tips and advice i am not good enough myself to make him a better photographer. He is only 15, doing his GCSE in photography and is really keen to learn from others. I asked him to join here submit some photos and get some feedback/criticism. So far, he hasn't received any feedback on his photo's (except from me!) and he is a bit disappointed because he really does want to improve.
On here there are some fabulous photographers with years of experience and valuable advice to give.
So, with that in mind, can some of you please, please, please offer some advice, critique, feedback and comments on how he can improve.
I'll thank you all in advance for your thoughts and kind (i hope) words.
OK, sorry we haven't helped you much; I consider myself less qualified than Apple Fanboy to comment on other's photos, but, if you cropped it something like below, it will take out most of the distracting bush but leave enough to be interesting, and make the main subject of the beach and sea stand out more. By doing this I also noticed the beachcomber on the right hand side which wasn't a prominent feature before.this is one of many photos i took whilst i was on holiday, very similar to my first post except I've just focused on the beach rather than the rose hip bush to the right.

Self doubt seems to be a reoccurring theme on here!
Your work is also great.
