Ha ha ha - I've actually been to the NL a few times, but never to Amsterdam. So yes, this time I am going to Amsterdam! ;)
I'll be there Friday. When you going?

Honestly me. I prefer the sun.
But I like your photo.

Great contrast, i love the grey, moody sky.
Was it taken in Wales in rain, by any chance?
Lol.

Hurricane Irma just rolled through the Savannah area...I hate wind and rain and puddles. Actually, got lucky that the storm lost oomph as it went over Florida and then took a left turn away from Savannah. Still lots of rain and wind. We didn't evacuate this time (last year Hurricane Matthew we did). Haven't been out an about to look at stuff. Imagine the authorities want to keep folks off the roads. Since its stopped raining and blowing probably take a walk round the neighborhood. Haven't seen any posts from SomeOldguy, he hangs his hat in Florida. Hope he's ok. Leaks in the roof but other than that ok. Lots of wind and water/flooding damage in Florida but haven't heard anything about loss of life thank goodness. Mother Nature can be a cruel lady. Cheers

Sorry, all. That was really stupidly insensitive of me to post that last image. I can hardly believe it myself, looking back. It's gone.

Glad you are safe. Remnants of a hurricane caused some major damage here in MD a number of years ago and I can tell you look at those lovely old trees in the neighborhood, especially those close to ones house, quite differently. And not having power is definitely no fun if you are talking more than a few days.

Coincidentally my daughter spent five weeks in a program at SCAD earlier this summer . We sent her down on the plane but spent several days to drive down and pick her up and consequently spent 30 hours in Savannah (we also visited my wife's elderly cousin who retired there recently). I really didn't get the chance to take any pictures of the city while we were there unfortunately. The houses, squares (28 of them!), and other aspects of the city seemed to offer great photo potential to me. Perhaps my daughter will decide to go to SCAD next year after graduation and I'll get a chance to take those pictures. In the meantime I have to get to a Cars & Coffee sometime soon. ;)

SCAD has quite the reputation. Yes, Savannah can be quite beautiful if only for all those pesky tourists. One word of caution, avoid Savannah like the plague on St. Paddy's....it's a madhouse. C&C this Saturday at Hilton Head....its on my calendar. Just hop a flight.:)

Every little bit helps. What to do with an alley in an area of a city that's seen better days that you are trying to bring back? Sweep up the debris, add a few decorative benches and lights, let graffiti artist do their thing, have bars and eateries open up at the back of the properties, and call it something other than an alley. Voila! People actually wanting to hang out there.
